THE TURKISH REGULATION ON CHEMICALS REGISTRATION, EVALUATION, AUHTORISATION AND RESTRICTION (KKDIK)
It was enacted in December 2017 and enacted to harmonize with the European Chemicals Management System
Major obligation
- Registration
- Registration of chemicals manufactured or imported more than 1 tonne per year
- - Pre-registration : Pre-registration of chemical substances manufactured and imported more than 1 ton per year by
December 2020 through chemical registration system
- - Registration : Co-registration or individual registration is carried out through the chemical registration system from
December 2023 to December 2023, by the registered tonnage section (1-10 tons, 10-100 tons, 100-1000
tons, 1,000 tons or more).
- Report
- The manufacturer or importer of the finished product is obliged to report if the high risk concern defined by KKDIK exceeds 0.1% of the weight of the finished product and the substance is manufactured or imported in quantities of 1 ton or more per year
- Limit
- KDIK Annex 17 list of restricted materials is 66 types similar to EU REACH Annex 17 list of restricted substances and must comply with the restrictions
- Permission
- Similar to EU SVHC target list as per annex 14
- Licensed materials are not permitted to be manufactured, imported, and used until authorized
- Preparation and delivery of Material Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
- SDS can be used according to the existing SDS format and the new KKDIK from December 31, 2017 to December 30, 2023.
- Only SDS according to KKDIK can be used from 31 December 2020
- Must be written in Turkish and must have the contact and authentication number of SDS writers certified in section 16
