Summary of Taiwan (Toxic Chemical Substance Control Act)
For substances not listed on Taiwan's existing chemical list, the registration system for new substances (toxicology management and occupational safety and sanitation) is operated.
In particular, similar to the domestic K-REACH, existing substances in Taiwan must be registered in stages. About 2,000 types of priority materials are expected to be registered, and the first 106 types of registered existing materials were announced as of 2018.
For new substances not listed on Taiwan's existing chemical substance list, registration must be completed before manufacturing and importing in Taiwan. The type of declaration is divided according to the amount of annual production and import, and as the amount of annual manufacturing and importing increases according to the type of declaration, the submitted data also increases.
