[Newsletter No. 33] Upcoming K-REACH Amendment and K-BPR Legislation

Dear precious clients,

We would like to inform you that on Feb 28, 2018, the amendment of Act on Registration, Evaluation and etc. of Chemicals (“K-REACH”) and legislation of Safety Management Act for Household Chemical Products and Biocidal products (“K-BPR”) were passed by the plenary session of the National Assembly.

The proposed amendment and legislation passed by the National Assembly will be promulgated by the president within 15 days and will take into force 20 days after the date of promulgation unless there is any object. Next steps are shown in below table.

Receipt → Review by the Environmental Labor Committee → Review by the Judicial Committee → Deliberation by the National Assembly → Transfer to the government → Promulgation

Currently, the work for amending/making subordinate laws of K-REACH and K-BPR is quickly being prepared.
